Rebel in my Thoughts

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing."

Dwyane Wade is simply amazing

41 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists to close out the Pacers and help the Miami Heat move on to the Eastern Conference Finals. Legendary performance by Wade.

Oh yea, LeBron played great as well with 28, 7 and 6.

Have you noticed, when you’re trying to get over someone, they seem to be so good looking?

Anonymous asked: importance of abs in jump training?

LOL yeaaaa I got a question that makes me so happy LOL

Anyways, the role of the abdominal muscles is often understated or overstated. First of all, the abdominal muscles themselves aren’t the  key component I will discuss- it’s the whole core. That includes your abs, spinal erectors(lower back), and obliques.

  • Firstly, your core is NOT a prime mover of your vertical jump. Those are mainly the gluteal muscles and hamstrings, and quadriceps and calves to a lesser extent. Your core first and foremost is used as a stabilizer. A crucial part of your vertical jump is your time-to-stabilization, and minimizing the amortization phase (the time spent in between bending down and exploding up and how quickly you stabilize in that time), and the core plays a solid part in that.
  • Your core is another part of the chain of transferring energy. Quite simply, imagine a chain composed of many links. If there are any broken links, then chain isn’t functional. Same for your body. Starting from your feet upwards, there shouldn’t be any broken links. Your core is the final link for transferring your energy from lower body upwards.
  • Let’s be real, with any activity that requires quickness, speed, and strength, which high levels of jumping does require, your core is necessary for balance. If you can’t control your own body under a lot of tension, you won’t jump high. Simple.

All in all, your core is just another piece of the puzzle that adds up to higher jumping. Not only your abs, but your entire CORE. Don’t overstate it and spend all your time training your core obviously, but don’t neglect it either.

Pepsi MAX & Kyrie Irving Present: “Uncle Drew”

Pepsi MAX went to a pick-up game in Bloomfield, NJ pretending to shoot a documentary on a basketball player named “Kevin.” When his Uncle Drew came into the game, some magical things happened.

acjwlee:

lol.

got paired with the two most awkward, weirdest girls in my class for a final project.

Word, I’m not exactly pleased either lol.

For memory’s sake. Not even that bad today, got so much better from yesterday- no swelling now. I think I got the concussion from banging my head on the ground while taking a charge, not even the elbow. Crazy, I don’t remember a damned thing from yesterday. My chipped tooth is almost negligible, can’t even see it unless you look mad close. Feels super rough when I roll my tongue over it though! Haha doesn’t affect my eating so doesn’t matter. I’ll be good for sure though by tomorrow!

WATCH IT, I swear you will love it.

Oh my god my head what a ridiculous headache I feel like my head is going to explode I’m not even thinking straight oh the pain and I can’t even go to sleep ugh

Beat the mighty top seeded Hawks today!

Great, great, great effort from everyone.

Tommy and Muhammad Gumaneh were ZONED IN defensively. Their shooters and top scorers were put on lock today. Obviously they got their points, but we contained them well. We also killed them on the boards, which allowed us to control the tempo of the game, and keep it to a pace that we like. Opened up our offense in a nice way.

Offensively, Quinn did a great job. We gave him the ball almost every time down, and he either scored or set someone else to score a lot. Aqib got his shots, Tommy got his shots, I got my shots, Muhammad got his shots, all of initially throwing it down to Quinn. We all played solid offensively.

Big game tomorrow though, playing the Caliphs! Hopefully we bring the same effort tomorrow. Obviously we have more room to breathe now with back to back wins, but we still can’t take the foot off the gas.
